SA Youths Wiki!

The torchbearers wiki was created on 17/2/2006, for the youths of Salvation Army Central Corps. If you belong to our group, you can add or edit anything on the Wiki! Just click the Edit this page button after logging in. But before you do, take some time to learn some text formatting at the wiki style page! so that we can make the whole thing look nice.

Hola Argentina

Clarence will be flying off to Argentina on 30th June at 11pm. Those who want to send ihm off (Goodbye Farewell) please contact Matthew or be in corp at 8.30pm Sharp as we will leave at 8.45 on Tueday 30th June.

June Holiday Event

A 2D1N CAMP was held on the 17th-18th JUNE 2009. A day in the hot sun, full of fun, sweat and laughter at Sentosa and the wonderful and scrumptious BBQ back at Church.

Leaders' Retreat

While the youths are having their normal youth friday service, these are what the leaders are doing!

On the 5th to 6th June 2009, a Youth Leaders' Retreat was held at William Booth Corp.

Sessions of prayers, discussions and activities were held for the youth leaders.

Special Thanks to:

- Commissioner and Mrs Lim for being around :)

March Holiday Event

Date: 19th of March 2009

Venue: Church and Bishan Park

A day of fun-filled activity held by the YOUTHS for the YOUTHS! Too bad if you'd missed it.

Fellowship Friday 2007

What: Friendship Friday 2007

Who: Central Corps Youth and You!

Why: It’s a toast to the friends we’ve made

Come experience an evening filled with praise and worship as we thank the Lord for the love He has for us. It will be a night to remember as we end the week with food, friends and memories to last a lifetime. The Salvation Army youth extends a warm welcome to all newcomers this Friendship Friday 2007.

Doulos INSIDE OUT program

It is my pleasure to announce an exciting opportunity for all young

people age 13-17. The Doulos INSIDE OUT program is an exciting 2 day

program for young people to be exposed to world missions and experience

a little what life onboard Doulos is like!

Doulos will be in Singapore from 10 - 23 November 2006. The first 6 days

she will be berthed at Vivo City Jetty and from the 17-23 Nov. She will

be in Sembawang wharf.

Basic Counselling Skills Workshop

Hi all, like to announce that Jericho will be holding the above workshop on the 28th Oct, from 3-5pm. The course will be conducted by Pastor Paul and will cost $5 per participant. If you are interested please get back to me by 25th Oct by email at absolute_cross@yahoo.com.sg.

Topics covered:

Why do we need counselling?
Knowing yourself is important
Basic skills (listening, reflecting etc)
structured directional model for counselling

Alternatively, you can message any fellowship comm member by about 7pm on that Friday. This is to facilitate the new integrated announcement thingy the fellowship comm will be beta-testing. Prayer Meeting

hey! prayer meeting time will be changed to 3pm on sunday as of 1st week of June... which is... 4th June.

STOMP!

Congrats to all STOMPERS for their wonderful performances on Friday! It was a great effort and a job well done for all. We hope that you all had fun working and putting your performances together as cell groups! Give yourselves a pat on the back! Photos and videos are up at STOMP!

Yup, thank God that He saves! Last friday a sister accepted Christ! God is amazing isn't He. Rejoice!

Thanks All

Thanks everyone who has put "Yours, Truly" together. All the musicians, singers, leaders, speakers, video ppl, projector, fellowship and prayer groups, as well as uncle kolok, for the effort and hard work. Thanks all who came and those who brought their friends too, hope that you had a fruitful time with God during the whole thing. Yup, many thanks to Jesus Christ who paid the price and redeemed us all 1973 years ago. :)

Youth Alpha Course

Sign-ups for the Youth Alpha Course are now open. If you are interested in discovering the answers to some of the most asked questions on christianity, Or if you have questions yourself, this is the course for you! Contact Matthew to sign up. More info about the alpha course can be found here.

Date and time of course has not yet been finalised but we will try to suit all interested parties timings.

We Want You!

As you can see, we got a couple of ministries running in our youth group. And guess what? We are always looking for people! So here is what some of the ministries are looking for:

Prayer - 2 to 3 more committee members
Worship - people interested in learning an instrument
Evangelism - 2 to 3 more committee members
Creative Arts - Dancers?

NEW Torchbearer T-shirts

I will probably be working with Aaron to come up with a Torchbearer design for the shirts after my exams (anyone interested in helping too?). This project is open for everyone's participation so if you can come up with a design too, why not?! That will be awesome! Let Matthew view the prototype designs before anything else of course. HOWEVER, this does not imply that there WILL be a change in t-shirts (yet to be confirmed). In the meantime, just come up with ideas ya! Cheers! - Joel Lee

The Thing About Wikis...

Its about working together. Every viewer has a responsibility to keep it updated, since everyone has the ability to edit it. So if you see a typo, go ahead and correct it! Thinking of a new section? Go and create it! You get the idea. Just remember that you are a Christian, so please don't go and defame someone or use foul language (here or anywhere else for that matter). There is alot of things we can do here so lets work together and enjoy it! :)
